Father Michael feeds 15 outdoor cats, and 5 indoor cats at his Greek Orthodox Monastery located in the Slavic Village neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. Local non profit Valley Save a Pet has generously fixed and vaccinated all of his cats over the years.
Father Michael came to Neighborhood Pets Resource Center for assistance with food for his cats. All cats are named after a Greek Saint, and are cared for so incredibly well. Father Michael, Sister and the Bishop live on a stipend of $250 a month to pay for all bills and food. He told us they regularly use the money to pay for cat food, in place of their own food to make sure the cats are fed. Our hope is to be able to provide cat food for Father Michael’s 20 cats on an everyday basis. The dedication of Father Michael, and other clients, to their pets is no different than most other animal lovers. The animals are their family, simple as that. Neighborhood Pets hosts a small pet food bank so pet owners can call for help in times of need. This Holiday Season, we hope to provide food to many low income pet owners, so they can use their small amount of income to provide a Holiday for their family.
